New CAP Money Management Course

Feeling out of control, confused, and worried about money matters?

Do you know someone who is in this position?

This course is a revolutionary money management course that teaches budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that really works. The course is devised by the award winning debt counselling charity, Christians Against Poverty, or CAP for short, and it can help everyone to get more control over their finances. The course is...

  • Free and confidential
  • For everyone - you don't need to be in debt to do it
  • Open to all - you don't need to attend a church!

You will start by organising your finances into a manageable system and then learn how to make well-informed decisions about budgeting, cutting costs, and saving. By the end of the course you will be empowered to save more, reduce any outstanding debts and make better financial decisions. Good money management gives you the freedom to make the choices you want to live a happier life.

B2gether is a space for people with learning disabilities to meet amongst friends and to learn and develop faith.  We meet every Sunday at 10.30am – we join in the opening worship in the main church then afterwards meet in the Lymington Room for our own teaching during the sermon.  We are proud to be in partnership with the charity Livability (an organisation working with those with learning disabilities).

Our numbers have been steadily growing, but we’d love to welcome more people – please do join us!

Disabled access is available.

For more information, please contact Martin Dean through the Church Office (01803 400403).

Fresh Hope

Upton Vale Baptist Church has a group dedicated to caring for those within the church and with links to the church, who have emotional and mental wellbeing issues. This “Fresh Hope Group” offers monthly support meetings every third Wednesday which are open to anyone. There we share people’s stories and testimonies and offer confidential space in small groups in which to build one another up with prayer. We also pray for people to be healed after the meeting by request. This group is affiliated to the Fresh Hope group based in the USA.  Their website is  It forms part of the work of the pastoral care group and has facilities to visit or meet with people individually at the request of and in support of the Pastors and Elders. It includes professional doctors and nurses with experience in this area of ministry.

For more information please contact the church office on 01803 400403 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We celebrate Communion once a month in the morning and once every few months at Songs of Praise. The bread is passed around on plates – usually people take a piece and eat it as they are served. Non-alcoholic wine is served in individual small cups – we like to wait until everyone has been served and then drink it together as a sign of our oneness in Christ. Anyone who knows Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord is welcome to take communion with us, regardless of your church background. If you’re not sure what this means, or you feel uncomfortable about taking bread and wine, please feel free to let the plates pass you by.

The Vision

The Vision… ‘Everyone’s In’

The Vision in UVyouth is ‘Everyone’s In’ as we believe God wants every young person, regardless of who they are, what they’re like or where they’re from, to be able to find a home as part of Upton Vale Youth.

This vision consists of 3 components:

Everyone is ‘Invited’ to come and be part of the community

Everyone should be ‘Involved’ in what we do and how we do it, taking part and contributing by serving and using their gifts

Everyone seeks to be ‘In Christ’ – growing closer to becoming like Jesus by having a relationship with Him

Discipleship Groups

In UVyouth we think small groups are really important! We call our small groups ‘Discipleship Groups’ and they’re a chance to meet regularly with other Christian young people and adult Leaders to discuss life, encourage one another and get into big questions about God…

In a big youth group, it’s not always possible to get the support you might need on a Sunday morning or at Youth Clubs, so being part of a Discipleship Group is really important!

Our Discipleship groups are age and gender specific, so please get in contact with our Youth Pastor, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., on 01803 400403 to find out which group would be best for you/your child!
