Serve

Serving each other is one of our core values at UV and is a great and practical way of getting involved in the life of the Church. You will be able to use your skills, and maybe learn some new ones as well as getting to know other people in the church and building relationships within a team. There are several different volunteering opportunities currently available.

School Pastors is recruiting! School Pastors send out teams of volunteers twice a week from 2pm - 4pm with the aim of helping, keeping safe and caring for young people in the area around The Spires College and St Cuthbert Mayne School. Normally, a School Pastor will be part of a patrol between once and twice per month on a rota basis. School Pastors are looking to expand to new schools in the area and increase the size of the team to cope with demand... If you’d be interested in being a School Pastor (or Prayer Pastor) please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Monday Lunches: This is a great ministry to older people in our community. We need people who are willing to prepare vegetables between 8.30am - 10am, table layers between 10am - 11.30am and waiters and dish washers between 12noon - 2.00pm.  We also urgently need volunteers to help with laundering tablecloths. All personnel go on a monthly rota.  If interested please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Morning Out: Helpers needed each Thursday morning (during term time) from 10am – 12noon for our toddler group. Set up help also required from 9am - 10am. Interested helpers would need to undergo a DBS clearance check and attend our Safe to Grow training course as you’ll be working with children.  Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
